CNC turning

Turned components with a consistent finish and repeatable dimensions, whether the order is for one piece or several hundred.

Precision machined aluminium hub with a threaded central boss and five bolt bosses

Turning covers everything that is round: shafts, bushings, spacers, adaptors, fittings, threaded bosses and bored hubs. Where a part needs both turning and milling, it stays in the same building and moves between machines rather than between shops.

The hub shown here is a good example — a turned and threaded centre boss on a component whose arms and bolt bosses were milled. One part, two processes, one supplier.

01 Typical parts

Shafts, bushings, spacers, adaptors, fittings, threaded bosses and bored hubs.

02 Threading

Internal and external threads cut to standard and specified pitches.

03 Consistency

Documented setups so the last part of a run measures like the first.

04 Combined work

Turned and milled features on the same part, handled in-house.

Common questions

Questions about CNC Turning

Usually. Specify the pitch, the form and the class of fit on the drawing, and it can be quoted with the rest of the part.

Call out the finish you need on the print. If you do not specify one, you get a standard machined finish appropriate to the material.

Yes. Repeat batch work is a large share of the shop's output, with setups documented so reorders run identically.
